Discovery
At Marigot Bay, St Lucia
Cutting gently
into a hillside rich with lush vegetation and tropical blossoms,
Discovery at Marigot Bay on St Lucia’s sheltered west coast
blends into its beautiful surroundings enhancing the natural loveliness
of the bay described as “the most beautiful in the Caribbean” by
the novelist James A Michener.
The aim of the resort is to enable visitors to enjoy a period of recreation (“re-creation”)
in the truest sense—relaxation, freedom from the pressures of life, and
time to reflect and recharge their personal batteries.
The Discovery resort provides a luxurious environment for guests with every possible
modern facility. Integrated into the tropical landscape, the well appointed 57
suites (half with private plunge pools) and 67 rooms feature spacious verandahs
affording stunning views of the bobbing yachts and sparkling waters of Marigot
Bay below. The interiors are a unique and stylish combination of hot city chic,
state of the art fittings and Caribbean pizzazz. Each suite has a fully equipped
kitchen with the latest Italian-designed appliances, and a beautiful dining and
entertaining area which opens out onto a large wooden deck. Over half of the
suites have their own private plunge pools and all the rooms are equipped with
high speed internet access.
Dining options range from the finest haute cuisine at The Boudreau to casual
tropical tastes at the Coffee Dock. There’s live music, dancing under the
stars, a gymnasium, special mind and body courses, and access to a variety of
watersports including sailing, scuba diving, and snorkeling…or you can
simply sit back and soak in the sun.
If you’re into shopping The Marina Village, a colourful Caribbean style
wooden village built around an attractive courtyard garden, is the place to be.
Spend time browsing in the boutiques, enjoy a freshly baked croissant at the
bakery or ice-cold drink at the dockside bar and restaurant. There’s also
a bank, supermarket, art gallery and craft shop.
Lapli means both rain and blessings in the local Creole language and there are
plenty of treatments on the Lapli Spa menu to quench your body’s thirst
for pampering. Apart from the Vichy spa wetroom there is a full range of massage
and beauty therapies, using a mix of up-market international products from E’Spa
and local treatments that make extensive use of aloe vera, hibiscus, cactus,
seamoss, banana and other locally grown fruit and herbs. Each treatment room
has its own private deck with an open-air shower. Or you can have your threatment
au naturel in one of our Zen garden massage cabanas following a relaxing soak
in a Japanese-style ofuru wooden soaking tub.
