A stunningly beautiful island with a stable, democratic Government, independent of Britain since 1979, but a member of the British Commonwealth.

St Lucia enjoys excellent airlift from both the UK and USA and has links to the wider Caribbean through its second, regional airport in Castries. In the last ten years tourists from North America have outnumbered tourist from the UK and Europe.

It has a strong, local, business-orientated middle class and has developed over the last 10-15 years as a high-end vacation destination – both of which are reflected in reasonably stable property values and the likelihood of long-term appreciation in property values.

Known as the “Helen of the West Indies” St Lucia is renowned for its natural beauty including mountains, waterfalls, rainforest, marine reserves and the World Heritage site of the Piton Mountains – two spectacular volcanic plugs rising almost vertically from the sea to 2,500 ft.

Marina facilities for both super-yachts and cruising yachts are some of the best in the Caribbean and further expansion is planned. St Lucia is the perfect starting point for cruising south to the Grenadines, visiting some of the world’s most spectacular and relatively under-developed islands – or exploring the French islands of Martinique and Guadeloupe to the north.
